Preface
The purpose of this book is to take you on a journey to invoke critical thinking, ask questions, seek truth, and knock on the door that opens the pathway to the truth that leads to a new reality of the blessing that has been divinely scripted for Africa. It is a divinely ordained reality that awaits us as Africans if we follow the instructions given in the divine script and come into alignment with how things have been designed to work in the Creator’s instruction book.
It is a new reality of blessing that is waiting for us on the other side of the door if we choose to pursue it. It is a new reality that fulfils the Creator’s plan for Africa to be His source and symbol of blessing upon the earth, as its people fulfil their calling to be a light to the world by living in covenantal agreement and relationship with Him.
As a fellow African, a son of the soil of Africa, I will share snippets of the journey that I have walked which has taken me from trying to find meaning by conforming to the status quo, to coming out and pursuing what lies beyond the often rigid walls of mainstream narratives that we have been indoctrinated into, particularly in the sphere of religion. On this journey, I have made many discoveries, and it is these discoveries that I will be sharing.
The intention behind this book is not to impose my discoveries or even teach them, but rather to ignite a desire within Africans to go on their own journeys of discovery in search of truth. What you will find in this book are clues that stir up deeper need for the reader to go ‘treasure hunting’ to find the truth themselves and not rely on what another man or institution of religion says. One of the key precepts of wisdom from the Creator’s instruction book is ‘you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.’
If indeed knowing the truth is a foundational key to freedom, would Satan, the devil, the one known as the father of lies, and the one who deceives the whole world, not use lies as his primary strategy to ensure that we are bound in captivity? Lies are the ropes that tie us down to the status quo, whereas the truth is the sword that cuts through the ropes, releasing us to step into a magnitude of freedom we did not even realise existed.
“Is what I believe to be true based on what someone else has told me, or is it based on what I have confirmed through my own research and study”? This is one of the most important questions I have learnt to constantly ask myself. The more I realised that most of what I believed to be true was based on what I had been told, the more I understood that I was a prime candidate for deception, and, therefore, I needed to start my own process of asking, seeking, and knocking for truth. This became my treasure hunt for truth, but not just for truth, but ‘The Truth’.
Reaching a point in your 40s and 50s where you realise that most of what you have believed to be true all your life might be a lie is an uncomfortable place to be in, especially when it touches on the spiritual foundation that one is standing and has stood upon with such confidence.
That is the place I got to.
It is a place where I pondered the possibility that what I had built my own life upon and taught my family was flawed. Many times, my thoughts were ‘let sleeping dogs lie,’ but at the same time, I was so aware that the eternal ramifications of ignoring what I was going through were too high.
So, it started the most humbling process of admitting that I was deceived and that I, therefore, needed to deconstruct the foundation and pillars that formed the frame upon which my life was built, trusting that on the other side, I would be able to reconstruct a foundation and pillars from scratch.
The deconstruction of a foundation comes with the collapse of everything that was built on top of it, and that is exactly what happened. However, at the same time came the exhilaration and joy at the prospect of rebuilding on a new foundation.
“You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness.” (Psalm 30:11)
The dictionary defines revelation as follows: (1) a surprising and previously unknown fact that has been disclosed, (2) the making known of something that was previously secret or unknown, and (3) the divine or supernatural disclosure to humans of something relating to human existence.
Revelation can render what we know today irrelevant. My hope is that everything that will be presented in the pages of this book will serve as stepping stones for you to inquire for yourself and find the conclusions the Most High God wants you to.
As one who lived in so much pride and who continues to be intentionally aware of that pride lurking in me, I have come to realise that pride is the enemy of revelation. It is the pride of man that often stands in the way of truth, and pride can lead to destruction when we hold on to a conditioned conclusion that is false.
The levels of cognitive dissonance I experienced while writing this book were off the charts, and I expect the same will be the case for most as you read this book, but I urge you to push through, notwithstanding.
May this book inspire you to seek, and if you end up retaining the beliefs you already held, there is no loss, but if you discover something, then it is a gain for you.
I believe the primary war that we as Africans need to fight is one between truth and lies.
I hope that this book will become ‘a sword of truth’ that will help many Africans to cut away the ropes that tie them down so that Africa can finally “arise and shine” to fulfil her destiny.
For this to happen, I believe there is a Master Key that we need to understand and get access to.
